Alex Farias is a Spanish-speaking facilitator passionate about personal development, meaningful learning, youth engagement, women’s empowerment, and human connection. Her interest in facilitation began during her teenage years in her native Dominican Republic, when she recognized her ability to explain complex ideas in clear, accessible, and engaging ways.
Through her work with Training To Impact, Alex has supported youth-focused substance use prevention efforts, helping create interactive learning experiences that encourage young people to reflect, participate, and strengthen the knowledge and skills that support healthy decision-making. This experience has deepened her commitment to creating spaces where youth feel heard, respected, and empowered to recognize their own strengths and potential.
Alex is also passionate about women’s empowerment. Her book Las Seis Reglas del Ámbar reflects her commitment to helping women strengthen self-awareness, confidence, personal growth, and their ability to make intentional choices in their lives.
With training in emotional intelligence and positive psychology, Alex understands that people have different learning styles, strengths, and life experiences. Her facilitation approach incorporates conversation, interactive activities, creativity, and real-life examples to encourage participation and connection. She strives to create welcoming learning environments where participants feel comfortable sharing their perspectives, engaging with others, and applying what they learn.
Her facilitation philosophy is simple: if someone does not understand something one way, we need to find another way to teach it.

Ana’s background includes 15 years of experience developing and supporting programs and community engagement initiatives in public libraries, as well as more than 10 years of experience facilitating classes and providing coaching to parents and caregivers involved in the justice system. She has also served as a youth mentor. These experiences have strengthened her ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds, build trust, navigate sensitive conversations, and create learning environments that recognize the strengths, experiences, and knowledge participants already bring.
Since 2024, Ana has served as an Adjunct Instructor in the Master of Social Work program at Pacific University, where she teaches the course Latino Family and Culture. Her teaching addresses topics that also inform TTI’s training and facilitation approach, including cultural humility, antiracist practices, anti-bias in action, family and cultural dynamics, and culturally responsive engagement. Her experience working with graduate social work students further strengthens her ability to connect theory, lived experience, and practical application.
Through TTI, Ana facilitates culturally responsive training, workshops, community conversations, planning sessions, and other learning experiences for public agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, families, and community groups. Her facilitation approach is grounded in Popular Education and adult learning principles and is practical, participatory, and interactive.
Ana believes meaningful learning happens when participants’ cultures, lived experiences, and existing knowledge are recognized as important sources of learning. She creates spaces where people can exchange perspectives, strengthen skills and relationships, reflect on their experiences, and identify practical actions they can apply in their families, workplaces, and communities.
